Only three bakeries and cake studios passed our checks for Thornbury, so that is the whole list. Two are on High Street in Thornbury and one is on High Street in Northcote.

Casa Nata — 846 High Street, Thornbury VIC 3071
Casa Nata’s site title calls it a Portuguese Custard Tart Cafe. It says its open kitchen design lets you “witness the entire process of making authentic Pasteis de nata.” The contact page lists Monday–Sunday: 9am to 3pm. Its product page prints Portuguese Tarts at $26.00 AUD for the default option.

Mali Bakes is a cake studio, and its pages are built around ordering, so check before turning up. The site lists studio hours of Wednesday to Friday 9 am – 4 pm and Saturday 9 am – 2 pm. It says it uses high-quality ingredients like Gippsland Jersey Butter. Its Retro Cakes page lists Stevie from $155, and Love Bite from $150.

Northcote Bakeshop — 571A High Street, Northcote VIC 3070
Northcote Bakeshop’s site title reads Sourdough Bakery, Coffee & Baked Goods. Its hours block says Monday - Sunday 6am - 2pm, while a banner on the home page gives a slightly different closing time. Plan around the earlier one. Its pre-order menu shows item names only as image text, so we copied no prices.
Roaster: The site title mentions coffee, but we could not find a roaster named in what we read, so ask at the counter.
