This page answers a plain question: where can you work on a laptop near Thornbury, and what does it cost to stay? It covers five places: one cafe in Thornbury and three cafes and a council library in Northcote, so it is in and around Thornbury.

Rat the Cafe — 72 Wales Street, Thornbury VIC 3071
Rat the Cafe is the Thornbury entry. OpenStreetMap carries the tag internet_access=wlan for it, but the cafe does not state wifi or power on its own pages that we could find, so treat that as a tag, not a promise. Its site lists Mon — Fri 07:30 - 16:00 and Sat - Sun 8:00 - 14:00. The menu lists monks chai at $5.90 and a breakfast sandwich at $18.

Little Local has no wifi or laptop statement in our sources, so it is here as a long-hours cafe. Its site invites you to ‘settle down at Little Local for a long (all day!) breakfast or lengthy lunch!’ It lists Monday - Thursday 7:30am to 3:00pm, Friday 7:30am to 3:30pm and Saturday - Sunday 8:00am to 3:30pm. The site also says the entire cafe premises are access friendly. Its menus are images and a PDF, so we could not read prices.

Tinker — 235 High Street, Northcote VIC 3070
Tinker states no wifi or laptop policy in our sources, so it is a long-hours pick only. Its site lists Hours Monday - Friday 7:00am - 4:00pm and Saturday - Sunday 8:00am - 4:00pm. The menu PDF lists Almond Croissant at $8.50 and TOAST W/ SPREADS at $10. It also lists Ham, Cheese, Tomato Toastie at $12, and the PDF may be older than the current menu.

We found no date on its site, so confirm the hours and menu before you go.
