Been a while since a class or a gym? Doesn’t matter. This page covers six places in and around Thornbury: two in Thornbury, three in Northcote and one in Preston. They are a trainer-led studio, a yoga studio, a council-area pool and gym, a gym with member access listed round the clock, a second yoga studio and a Pilates studio.
We do not crown a single best gym. The criteria are the ones each place publishes: listed prices, listed hours and listed classes. Where a venue gives no hours or its timetable is a live widget, we say so and leave the hours out.
Every place was checked against at least two sources, and each fact below is attributed to the venue’s own site or the council. Prices are as printed, with the item beside the amount.

Immortal Fitness — 467 St Georges Road, Thornbury VIC 3071
Immortal Fitness at 467 St Georges Road is built around trainers. Its site says everyone who trains there trains with a trainer, either in a group or one on one. Its fees page lists GROUP SESSIONS from $40 (1 HOUR). It also lists TEEN GYM SESSIONS from $30. The fees page carries an old date in its footer, so confirm prices before you book.

Prana House — Level 1, 885 High Street, Thornbury VIC 3071
Prana House is upstairs at Level 1, 885 High Street. Its site says all levels of yoga experience are welcome and that there is a variety of class styles. It also describes five wellness rooms in its Wellness Sanctuary. Its pricing page lists a Drop In Class at $30. It also lists a 10 Class Pass at $200. Some site copy looks dated, so check class details with the studio.

Northcote Aquatic & Recreation Centre — 180 Victoria Road, Northcote VIC 3070
The Northcote Aquatic & Recreation Centre at 180 Victoria Road is the pool option. Its site lists an outdoor 50m pool, an indoor 25m pool, a warm water pool, a Learn To Swim pool and two aquatic splash zones, plus swimming lessons for kids. For hours, its site lists Monday to Friday Health Club (gym) 5:15am-10pm and the 50m pool 6:00am-9:30pm. Its casual pricing page prints Casual gym entry (per session) at $24.50 and Group fitness class at $19.95.

Fitness Fit 24 Hours at 360-362 High Street says it is open 24-hours. Its site lists free weights, a boxing room and cardio equipment, and says professional personal trainers are on-site. The site prints Casual entry at $18. Its staffed hours are listed separately from member access: Monday to Thursday 9.00am - 8.00pm, Friday 9.00am - 6.00pm, Saturday 9.00am - 2.30pm, and Sunday and public holidays not staffed.

Yogaville — 21 Gilbert Road, Preston VIC 3072
Yogaville is at 21 Gilbert Road in Preston, near the Thornbury border. Its site lists a FOUNDATION LEVEL (Beginners Yoga) class and calls it the place to start. The classes page prints Casual at $32, where available. The site mentions a Thornbury studio too, but we did not confirm an address for it, so this page lists only the Preston address we could confirm.

KX Pilates Northcote — 336 High Street, Northcote VIC 3070
KX Pilates Northcote at 336 High Street is a franchise studio. Its site says it offers dynamic reformer Pilates classes designed to help you build strength, improve control and keep progressing. It also says the team supports people whether they are new to Pilates or have been training for years. We could not capture its class timetable.
