Off-lead status comes from the council alone, and whatever the sign at the gate says settles any dispute. This page lists seven parks, each with its council status first, then the exceptions and the features the council lists.
None of the seven has a Tottenham address, so this is dog-friendly parks in and around Tottenham. Two are in West Footscray, two in Yarraville, one in Maidstone and two in Braybrook. The facts come from the Maribyrnong council park pages and OpenStreetMap.
Cafes are not the point here. We list no opening hours, because the pages we read give none. Where a rule has set times, we say so and point you to the council page for the exact times.

Martin Reserve — 91–109 Essex Street, West Footscray VIC 3012
The council says: “The whole of Martin Reserve is designated as a dog off-lead area.” Its page also says the reserve “is fenced off making it an ideal area for dogs to be off-lead”, and OpenStreetMap tags it a dog park with the note “Fully-Fenced Dog Off-Leash Area”.
The council lists a drinking fountain and seating. Its page describes seating for owners to sit and supervise their dogs “in the shade of one of the many trees in this open space”. Per council, owners must supervise dogs at all times, and aggressive dogs must be removed.
Off-leash status: the whole reserve is a council off-lead area, and it is fenced.
Hansen Reserve — 35A Roberts Street, West Footscray VIC 3012
The council says Hansen Reserve is “a designated dog off-lead area with the exception of the area between the tennis courts and Roberts Street.” It adds: “At no times are dogs permitted to be off-lead in the area between the tennis courts and Roberts Street.”
The council lists a cricket oval, cricket nets, a soccer ground, a playground, a drinking fountain, a picnic table and a walking path. Its page also says: “Hansen Reserve is undergoing improvement works.” Check the council page before a long trip.
Off-leash status: off-lead except the strip between the tennis courts and Roberts Street, where dogs stay on-lead at all times.
Cruickshank Park — 5 Court Street, Yarraville VIC 3013
The council says: “Dogs are permitted to be off-lead in the area located between Austin Crescent West and Francis Street”, with set on-lead hours every day when all dogs must be on a lead. Read the council page for the exact times. It calls the park “a busy linear park along Stony Creek”.
The council lists a drinking fountain, fitness circuit, picnic table, playground, public tennis court, seating and walking path.
Off-leash status: off-lead only between Austin Crescent West and Francis Street, and on-lead at set times every day, so check the council order for the arvo window.
McIvor Reserve — 339A-339C Francis St, Yarraville VIC 3013
The council designates McIvor Reserve a dog off-lead area with exceptions. Its note reads: “At no times are dogs permitted to be off-lead on the above fields.” The exceptions are the soccer field, hockey field and baseball field.
The council lists a picnic table, playground, seating, soccer ground, sports pavilion, training lights and walking path.
Bring: a lead for the playing fields, where the council says dogs are never permitted off-lead.
Scovell Reserve — 31 Scovell Grove, Maidstone VIC 3012
The council says: “Scovell Reserve is a designated dog off-lead area, however dogs must be on-lead when within 30 metres of a playground or when public and sporting events are taking place.” It describes “a medium sized open space with sports fields, playground, picnic and public barbecue facilities.”
Maidstone shares Tottenham’s 3012 postcode. The council also lists cricket nets, a cricket oval, a sports pavilion and a walking path.
Off-leash status: off-lead, but on-lead within 30 metres of a playground and during public and sporting events.
Cranwell Reserve — 56-82 Cranwell Street, Braybrook VIC 3019
The council says: “Cranwell Reserve is a designated dog off-lead area and owners/handlers must supervise their dogs at all times while in Cranwell Reserve. Dogs are not permitted in the playground area at any time.”
It also describes “spectacular views over the Maribyrnong River Valley” and access to “the picturesque river trail”. The council lists a barbecue, drinking fountain, fitness circuit, picnic table, playground, seating and walking path.
Off-leash status: off-lead with supervision, and the playground is off limits to dogs at any time.
Braybrook Park — 107 Churchill Avenue, Braybrook VIC 3019
The council says: “Dogs are permitted to be off-lead in Braybrook Park in the mound areas only. Under no circumstances should dogs be off-lead in any other part of Braybrook Park.” It adds: “Dogs are not permitted in the playground area at any time.”
The council describes “a regional park which is home to Aeroplane Park, a community garden, sports pavilion, basketball court, walking trails and seating.”
Off-leash status: the mound areas only, and the lead stays on everywhere else in the park.

Is there an off-lead park in Tottenham itself?
None of the seven parks has a Tottenham address. Martin Reserve and Hansen Reserve in West Footscray, and Scovell Reserve in Maidstone, share Tottenham’s 3012 postcode.
Which of these parks is fully fenced?
Martin Reserve. The council says it “is fenced off”, and OpenStreetMap tags it “Fully-Fenced Dog Off-Leash Area”. We make no fencing claim for the other six.
Which parks have set on-lead times or distances?
Cruickshank Park has two set on-lead periods every day, per council, and its council page gives the clock times. Scovell Reserve is on-lead within 30 metres of a playground and during events. For the other parks, check the council page before you go.
Which parks ban dogs from the playground?
The council says “Dogs are not permitted in the playground area at any time” for Cranwell Reserve and for Braybrook Park.
