Correction (3 October 2026): an earlier version of this page listed places and details we could not stand behind. It has been rewritten from scratch: every place below was confirmed at two independent sources between 2 October 2026 and 3 October 2026, and every price was copied from the page it was published on.
We do not call anything here secret on our own word. We cannot measure how well known a place is, so the list is six places that have something checkable on the record: a set menu with printed prices, a dated gig listing, a wine list by the glass, a brewpub’s kitchen hours, a bookshop’s temporary trading days and a hotel’s hours. Our sources are the venues’ own pages, OpenStreetMap and the Australian Good Food Guide, not archives, so there is no lore here, only what each venue and listing says.
No address among the six is in Tottenham. One is in Yarraville, one in Footscray, three in Seddon and one in Kingsville, and each heading carries the venue’s own suburb. Only one place, Navi, has prices we could read; for the rest the table says so.

Navi — 83B Gamon Street, Yarraville VIC 3013
The restaurant’s own site describes “An intimate dining experience and a contemporary tasting menu in Yarraville, VIC.” Its menu page says “THE NAVI EXPERIENCE IS A SET MENU”. We read hours from OpenStreetMap only: its opening-hours tag reads “Sa 13:30-17:00, We-Sa 18:00-23:00”, so confirm with the restaurant before you book.

Mamma Chen’s — 42A Albert Street, Footscray VIC 3011
Mamma Chen’s own site lists its hours as “MONDAY-THURSDAY: 4 PM – 11 PM FRIDAY: 4 PM – 1 AM SATURDAY: 1 PM – 1 AM SUNDAY: 1 PM – 11 PM”. That makes Saturday an arvo start. The site carries a dated gig listing that changes weekly, so we print no lineup; check the listing before you plan around a night. We recorded no prices.
On the record: the site lists Friday and Saturday hours running to “1 AM”, with the gig listing on the same site.
Seddon Wine Store — 2/101 Victoria Street, Seddon VIC 3011
Seddon Wine Store’s own site says its “wine bar is open whenever we are and offers an ever changing list of wines by the glass all stored under gas to ensure freshness”. It describes its range as “boutique wines, craft beer and small batch spirits”, so it is a bottle-o and a wine bar under one roof, going by its own description. The site mentions “regular tastings and goings on”, though we found no public tasting dates. It lists hours as “Monday — Wednesday 11am — 9pm Thursday — Friday 11am — 10pm Saturday 10am — 10pm Sunday 11am — 9pm”. The address rests on that site, since the OpenStreetMap entry carries the name only. We recorded no prices.
On the record: wines by the glass from a list the site calls “ever changing”, so the list on the day is the one that counts.
Barbarian Brewing Co. — 289 Geelong Road, Kingsville VIC 3012
Barbarian Brewing Co.’s own site says “Our brewpub is at 289 Geelong Rd, Kingsville” and “We brew fresh, on-site and with purpose.” It lists its doors as “Wednesday – 12-9pm (Kitchen closes 9pm) Thursday – Saturday – 12-10pm (Kitchen closes 9pm) Sunday – 12-9pm (Kitchen closes 8pm)”, so the list starts at Wednesday. The Australian Good Food Guide tags it “Pet Friendly” and “Live Music”, which are listing features, not statements on the brewery’s own site. The site describes its food as “Wholesome, nostalgic pub fare”; we could not open the winter menu, so there are no prices.
On the record: the kitchen closes at 9pm from Wednesday to Saturday and at 8pm on Sunday, per the site, so on Thursday to Saturday the doors stay open an hour after the kitchen.
Seddon Book Alley — 107 Victoria Street, Seddon VIC 3011
Seddon Book Alley’s own site describes a “Generalist, Specialist, Second hand book store” and carries a notice: “Temporary change to trading days During September and October, we will only open on Fridays and Saturdays 10am to 5pm each day”. OpenStreetMap still lists “Th-Su 10:00-18:00+”, so we use the site’s hours, as of 3 October 2026. The site menu also lists rare and collectable books and bookbinding repairs. We print no prices, because single-title prices are not a menu.
The tell: the notice on its own site is the one to read first, because the trading days have changed for the time being.
Mona Castle Hotel — 45-53 Austin Street, Seddon VIC 3011
Mona Castle Hotel’s own site lists opening hours as “MONDAY – SUNDAY 12pm – LATE” and a beer garden marked “beer garden walk-ins only”. It lists kitchen hours separately from the bar hours, so check which you need on the hotel’s own page before you arrive. The Australian Good Food Guide tags it “Pet Friendly” and “Live Music”; those are listing features, not statements on the hotel’s own site. We recorded no prices.
On the record: the garden line on the site reads “beer garden walk-ins only”, which is the venue’s own wording and the only garden detail we recorded.
