First dates go best when little is riding on them and the conversation has somewhere to go besides the menu. Three places had enough on the public record for us to list them for a date: two in Truganina, and one in Derrimut, so this is a page about Truganina and around.
Each one carries a romantic tag or a romantic line, either in its own words or on the Australian Good Food Guide (AGFG). A tag is a listing’s label, not a verdict, so we say who said it and read the rest from hours and menus. Plan B is built in: if one table is booked, the other two are listed. Hours and prices change, so ring before you book.

Bukhara Indian Cuisine — 4 Corundum Lane, Sapphire Square, Truganina VIC 3029
AGFG tags Bukhara ‘Private Dining’, ‘Raw Food Options’ and ‘Romantic’, and Bukhara’s own site calls it a “high-end fine dining experience of Indian Cuisine”. AGFG lists it open every evening, with Friday and Saturday hours of 5:00 PM - 11:00 PM, so this is the one dinner pick on the page. The hours come from AGFG, not from Bukhara’s own page.
AGFG also tags it ‘Vegan Options’ and ‘Child Friendly’. Bukhara’s own menu is an image, so we could not read prices from it, and we are not quoting any. Stage: a third date or an anniversary fits a place that markets itself as fine dining, but that is our read of the wording, not the venue’s claim.
Talk-ability: AGFG tags ‘Private Dining’, so ask when you book whether a quieter table is on offer.
Allura Cafe — Shop 6, 320 Forsyth Road, Truganina VIC 3029
Allura’s own site describes a breakfast and brunch menu that “brings together Australian favourites with Mediterranean-inspired ingredients”, with “an all-halal menu”. AGFG tags it ‘Romantic’ as well as ‘Vegan Options’ and ‘Vegetarian Options’. AGFG lists it open until 3:00 PM every day, and Allura’s site says breakfast is “Served Daily from 8am - 2:30pm”, so this is a brunch date rather than a dinner one.
The menu prints Allura Breakfast at $26: eggs your way, sujuk (a spiced dried sausage), halloumi, labneh, olives, cucumber, tomato, za’tar, fresh herbs and Turkish bread. Turkish Eggs are $22, poached eggs over whipped garlic labneh with chilli butter, dill and toasted sourdough. For something sweet, Lotus Volcano Pancakes are $23, with warm biscoff sauce, vanilla ice cream and fresh berries.

Split or splurge: Turkish Eggs at $22 and Lotus Volcano Pancakes at $23 give you one savoury and one sweet to share, each priced on the menu.
Mt Derrimut Golf and Community Club (Bistro) — 475 Mt Derrimut Road, Derrimut VIC 3026
This one is in Derrimut, not Truganina. The club’s bistro page says “a romantic dinner for 2 by the fire” and sets it against “a group of 50 having a celebration”. It also describes an outdoor terrace as “a unique and beautiful setting for a relaxing drink or meal”, and lists wines, champagne, spirits, cocktails and beers alongside barista coffee and gourmet teas, so a date here does not have to involve a drink.
The bistro page prints these hours: Monday 11:00 – 15:00, Tuesday and Wednesday 10:00 – 16:00, Thursday to Sunday 10:00 – 18:00. The club’s driving range page prints its own, longer hours, ‘Monday 7am – 10pm’ among them, but those are the range’s hours, not the bistro’s. Ring before you plan a dinner. We found no bistro menu prices on the bistro page on 3 October 2026, and we did not check visitor access rules beyond that page, so ask whether a table is open to non-members.
The prices below are not bistro prices. They come from the club’s driving range and mini golf page: the three bucket prices are the range’s non-member prices, and ‘Adult’ is the first line of the mini golf price table.

AGFG tags Bukhara Indian Cuisine and Allura Cafe ‘Romantic’. Mt Derrimut Golf and Community Club’s own site uses the phrase “a romantic dinner for 2 by the fire”. Those are the only three places in our pack that carry a romantic quote.
Which of these is open for dinner?
Bukhara: AGFG lists it open every evening, with Friday and Saturday 5:00 PM - 11:00 PM. Allura is listed until 3:00 PM every day, so it suits brunch. The Mt Derrimut bistro hours on its own page finish by 18:00, so confirm with the club before booking an evening.
Are there vegan options?
AGFG tags both Bukhara Indian Cuisine and Allura Cafe ‘Vegan Options’. We did not read a full vegan menu at either, so check the dishes you want when you book.
Is there something to do besides eat?
The Mt Derrimut club’s site describes an 18 hole mini golf course, and its driving range and mini golf page lists Bucket of 30 balls at $13. That is the only activity we could verify on this page.
