Correction (3 October 2026): an earlier version of this page listed places and details we could not stand behind. It has been rewritten from scratch: every place below was confirmed at two independent sources on 3 October 2026, and every price was copied from the page it was published on.

A vegan label is a promise the venue or a directory makes, so this page reports each one in the words used and names who said it. Five places in Truganina had a vegan or vegan-friendly statement on the public record that we could confirm at two sources: three are tagged “Vegan Options” by the Australian Good Food Guide (AGFG), one says on its own site that it caters to vegan diets, and one says it offers “a selection of vegan-friendly options”.

None of the five is described as fully plant-based in the sources we read. That is why every entry ends with one question to ask before you order. Where a dish is mentioned, we name what the menu lists and nothing more.

Garg Indian Kitchen — 290A Leakes Rd (Liberty Oil), Truganina VIC 3029

AGFG tags Garg Indian Kitchen “Vegan Options”. The restaurant’s own site gives its address as “Liberty Oil, 290A Leakes Rd, Truganina 3029 VIC”, and its ordering page asks you to “Select your order type Pickup or Delivery”. The site lists the same hours, 10:00am - 10:00pm, for every day from Monday to Sunday. The menu below is mostly Indian street snacks: a chaat is a savoury snack, and gol gappe are small crisp shells that are filled and eaten at once.

Ask: which dishes are vegan, because the menu lines we copied carry no marker; pav bhaji is a spiced vegetable mash eaten with bread rolls and is often finished with butter, so confirm that one in particular.

Mamma Roti — 1/2 Infinity Drive, Truganina VIC 3029

Mamma Roti’s own site says “Mamma Roti proudly caters to Jain (no onion, no garlic), Vegan, and Gluten-Free diets”, and describes the venue as offering “dine-in, takeaway or catering”. The site lists restaurant hours as “Wed - Mon: 4:30pm - 10:30pm” and “Closed on Tuesday”. A samosa is a fried pastry with a spiced filling, and vada pav is a potato fritter served in a bread roll; the menu lists both.

Fully plant-based or options: options. The site’s statement covers vegan diets, but the menu lines we copied carry no marker, so ask which dishes the kitchen treats as vegan.

Baba Sweets Truganina — Shop 12-13/211 Leakes Rd, Truganina VIC 3029

Baba Sweets’ site calls itself “100% VEGETARIAN” and “Authentic Indian Sweets & Pure Vegetarian Cuisine”, and adds “we also offer a selection of vegan-friendly options”. It says “Most menu items are available for takeaway”. Its contact page prints “Open Monday to Sunday 9.00 am to 9.00 pm” once for all of its stores, not for Truganina alone, so confirm the shop’s own times before you go. A thali is a plate that serves several dishes together.

Kitchen statement: “100% VEGETARIAN” is the site’s own wording, and vegetarian is not the same as vegan; the site does not say which options are the vegan-friendly ones, so ask which of the thalis can be made that way.

Bukhara Indian Cuisine — 4 Corundum Lane, Sapphire Square, Truganina VIC 3029

AGFG lists Bukhara Indian Cuisine with “Vegan Options”, and the venue’s own site describes a “high-end fine dining experience of Indian Cuisine”. AGFG’s listing shows evening hours every day: 5:30 PM - 10:30 PM from Sunday to Thursday and 5:00 PM - 11:00 PM on Friday and Saturday. The menu on the venue’s own site is an image, so we copied no prices and there is no price line for this place. The same AGFG listing tags it “Takeaway”.

Menu markers: the only marker we have is AGFG’s “Vegan Options” tag. Ask which dishes that covers, and whether they can be prepared without dairy.

Allura Cafe — Shop 6, 320 Forsyth Road, Truganina VIC 3029

AGFG lists Allura Cafe’s features as “Vegan Options Vegetarian Options”. The cafe’s own site says “BREAKFAST Served Daily from 8am - 2:30pm” and describes “an all-halal menu”. The breakfast dishes printed below name eggs, halloumi, labneh and feta in their descriptions, so none of them is the vegan option. The cafe’s own menu data does carry a “Vegan” label on three dishes: the Falafel & Roasted Veges Wrap, listed as falafel with roasted grilled vegetables and hummus sauce at $14, the Falafel Bowl and the Mediterranean Quinoa Salad.

Ask: whether the three dishes the site labels vegan are prepared that way on the day; the label is the site’s own and the breakfast list above carries none.

Quick answers

Which Truganina places list vegan options?

AGFG tags Garg Indian Kitchen, Bukhara Indian Cuisine and Allura Cafe with “Vegan Options”. Mamma Roti’s own site says it “proudly caters to Jain (no onion, no garlic), Vegan, and Gluten-Free diets”, and Baba Sweets says “we also offer a selection of vegan-friendly options”.

Is any of these a fully vegan restaurant?

None of the five is described as fully plant-based in the sources we read. Baba Sweets calls itself “100% VEGETARIAN”, which is a different claim, so ask at the counter which dishes are vegan.

Which of these are open in the evening?

Mamma Roti’s site lists “Wed - Mon: 4:30pm - 10:30pm” and “Closed on Tuesday”. AGFG’s listing for Bukhara Indian Cuisine shows evening hours every day, including Fri 5:00 PM - 11:00 PM and Sat 5:00 PM - 11:00 PM. Garg Indian Kitchen’s site lists 10:00am - 10:00pm every day, Monday to Sunday.

Can I get takeaway?

Garg Indian Kitchen’s ordering page asks you to “Select your order type Pickup or Delivery”, Mamma Roti’s site mentions “dine-in, takeaway or catering”, Baba Sweets says “Most menu items are available for takeaway”, and AGFG tags both Bukhara Indian Cuisine and Allura Cafe with “Takeaway”.

How we checked

We checked every place on this page against at least two independent sources on 3 October 2026: the places’ own websites and the Australian Good Food Guide. Every price is copied exactly as printed on the page linked under Sources, on 3 October 2026. Menus, prices and opening hours change, so check with the venue before you go.
