This guide covers four places: Price Park in Viewbank, the YMCA Macleod Recreation and Fitness Centre in Macleod, Snap Fitness in Heidelberg and Fernwood Fitness in Bulleen. We did not rank them. The criteria are listed hours, listed prices and listed classes.
Each fact is attributed to the council, the venue’s own site or the centre it describes. Where a price or an hour was not published, we say so.

Price Park — 55 Meyrick Crescent, Viewbank VIC 3084
Banyule Council lists the features of Price Park as wildlife observation, barbecues, a dog off lead zone, fitness equipment, play equipment, public toilets and walking and bike trails. The council describes a 7 hectare reserve on hills, surrounded by roads and houses. The page names fitness equipment but does not describe it, and we could not find opening times or prices on it.

YMCA Macleod Recreation and Fitness Centre — 157 Wungan Street, Macleod VIC 3085
The YMCA site lists general entry hours of Monday to Thursday 6:00am to 10:00pm, Friday 6:00am to 9:00pm, and Saturday and Sunday 8:00am to 8:00pm. It says the large gym area has ’enough machines to keep you working, not waiting’. It also lists group fitness classes across its fitness studios, including a cycle room. Its Prices page lists Gym access (standard) at $22.40 and Gym access (concession) at $18.00.

Snap Fitness Heidelberg — 40 Burgundy St, Shop 2 & 3, Heidelberg VIC 3084
Snap Fitness Heidelberg’s page says Open 24 hours to members. It describes 24/7 access and a separate Group Fitness and Strength and Conditioning studio. The page lists over 20 coach-led classes through the week, including Shred, HIIT, Power, Sculpt and Pilates. It also lists free onsite parking.
Home ground: Shop 2 & 3, 40 Burgundy St, Heidelberg, and we could not find a membership price on the page.
Fernwood Fitness Bulleen — 79/109 Manningham Road Ground Level, Bulleen VIC 3105
Fernwood’s page calls the Bulleen club a women’s-only health, fitness and wellness club at Bulleen Plaza. It lists a strength training gym area, personal trainers, a Reformer Pilates studio, FIIT30 small group training, a group fitness timetable and cardio equipment. Staffed hours are Monday to Wednesday 08:30 am - 07:30 pm, Thursday 08:30 am - 07:00 pm, Friday 08:30 am - 12:30 pm and Saturday 09:00 am - 12:00 pm, with Sunday unstaffed. The page prints no membership prices that we could find.
Season runs: per its page, members can get in anytime outside the staffed hours.
