Correction (11 October 2026): an earlier version of this page listed places and details we could not stand behind. It has been rewritten from scratch: every place below was confirmed at two independent sources on 9 October 2026, and every price was copied from the page it was published on.

This page answers one question: which cafes around West Footscray carry a Pet Friendly listing. Three places made it, one in West Footscray (Dumbo), one in Kingsville (Olive Oil & Butter Kafé) and one in Footscray (West 48).

Each Pet Friendly tag comes from the Australian Good Food Guide, and we checked each place against its own site and OpenStreetMap as well. A tag is a listing feature, not a council order, so confirm with the cafe where your dog can sit. Bring a lead and water.

  • AVO TOAST: $26
  • EGGS BENEDICT: $28

Olive Oil & Butter Kafé — 196 Somerville Road, Kingsville VIC 3012

AGFG lists Olive Oil & Butter Kafé as Pet Friendly. It also lists Alfresco Dining, Takeaway, Child Friendly and Vegan Options. Its own site gives the Somerville Road address in Kingsville. We have not printed hours or prices for it, so call or check its site before you walk over.

Bring: a lead, a water bowl and a plan B in case the tables outside are full.

West 48 — 48 Essex Street, Footscray VIC 3011

AGFG lists West 48 as Pet Friendly, alongside Alfresco Dining, Takeaway and Vegan Options. Its site lists 8am to 2pm Monday to Saturday and 9am to 2pm Sunday. The menu we copied prints a Basket of fries at $10, a decent thing to share at an outdoor table. Its details may have changed, so treat the hours as a guide.

On the menu (copied from west48.com.au/West-48-Food-Menu-2026-v3.pdf on 9 October 2026):

  • Lucifers Eggs: $25
  • Chicken Katsu Sando: $23
  • Basket of fries: $10

Off-leash status: this is a cafe listing, not a park, so keep the lead on and check the council order for any off-lead area nearby.

How we checked

We checked every place on this page against at least two independent sources on 9 October 2026: OpenStreetMap, the places’ own websites and the Australian Good Food Guide. Every price is copied exactly as printed on the page linked under Sources, on 9 October 2026. Menus, prices and opening hours change, so check with the venue before you go. The cover photo is illustrative, from Unsplash, and does not show any place on this page.
