Planning dinner for two comes down to three checks: can you hear each other, what will it cost, and how do you get home. This page covers three sit-down places, two in Wollert and one in Mernda, sorted by what each one says about itself.
Only three places had a date-night signal we could back up. AGFG tags Taj on High as ‘Romantic’, Bridge Inn Hotel’s own site says ‘intimate date night’, and Bluestone’s site pitches a historic building with bookings. We did not pad the list beyond that.
Each place was checked against two sources and every price is copied from a published menu. Plan B is in each entry, because dinner plans change.

Taj on High — 2 Linfield Parade, Wollert VIC 3750
AGFG tags Taj on High as ‘Romantic’, which is the signal this page leans on, and it also tags it ‘Alfresco Dining’ and ‘BYO’. Its site lists Pickup and Table Booking, so booking ahead is an option and takeaway is your plan B if the night falls through. For hours, its site lists 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm Monday to Thursday and 12:00 pm to 11:00 pm Friday to Sunday. We could not find accessibility details published for Taj on High.

Bluestone’s site describes a ‘beautiful bluestone building with over 100 years of history’ and lists a cocktail list, which gives you a reason for a planned dinner rather than a drop-in. The site says walk-ins are welcome but it encourages booking. Dinner is listed from 5:30–9:30pm Wednesday to Sunday, and the site shows it closed Monday and Tuesday, with trading hours that may change for reservations and private functions. A 15% surcharge for Sundays and public holidays is printed on the menu. Its take-away menu prints Spaghetti Bolognese at $24.00. We could not find accessibility details published for Bluestone.

Bridge Inn Hotel is a pub in Mernda, and its own site calls it ‘an ideal spot for enjoying a meal with friends or savoring an intimate date night’. The same site lists local entertainment every Friday night, so talk-ability drops that evening and another night is the quieter bet. Its site says the kitchen serves lunch and dinner seven days a week from 11 am to 9 pm. We could not find accessibility details published for Bridge Inn Hotel.
